Founding Director
Jenn's passion for officiating has been a part of life since 2000 when her mom bought her first whistle and shirt and dragged her to a boy's 8th grade rec game in Ogden, Utah. It was love at first whistle. Twenty-six years into this advocation Jenn has had the honor to work numerous DIII conference and national tournament games including the 2015 National Championship Series, many DII conference tournament games for our Midwest conferences, and DI conference tournaments in the A10, OVC, and NEC. She currently works in eight DI conferences, the GLIAC, WIAC, for NJCAA, and DIII men's games in the CCIW and Midwest. Outside of collegiate officiating, Jenn is a three-time McDonald's All-American referee and has had the privilege of working with USA basketball at their practices for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. While the passion started out for love of the game of basketball that love grew. Today, though Jenn still loves our game and the act of officiating, she is focused on the people who make up the officiating community. As the coordinator of officials for the Midwest and Northern Athletic Collegiate Conferences she has built a successful roster into a flourishing community that has seen success at the highest level for DIII basketball. Each year she's been a coordinator has seen one of the Midwest's or NACC's recommended officials work at one of the Final Four or Championship games.
Accomplishment isn't only wearing a blue NCAA patch in March or working at a high level or being a coordinator; it means using all the knowledge gained from those experiences to help give others the possibility of having those same experiences. ACO was developed with that sentiment in mind and Jenn is proud to continue to work with Rachel and Randy to create those opportunities for others.
Officiating has given Jenn the opportunity to meet John Washo (her husband and men's official), built a stronger connection with her mom (she watched every one of Jenn's games), created life long friendships, and has given an avenue to positively impact lives.
When not on a court or scheduling or selling flowers (yep, a day job) Jenn can be found in the mountains with her family, traveling from coast-to-coast with John, reading an epic fantasy novel, getting distracted by a tree or flower while in the middle of a conversation, or cuddling Rippley.
